Conductive polymer (PEDOT/PSS)

Solvent-dispersed PEDOT PSS.jpg

Overview

PEDOT/PSS is a water-dispersed conductive polymer that forms uniform, transparent conductive films on plastic substrates. Compared with metal-oxide or multi-layer stacks, it offers excellent film-forming ability, optical clarity, and flexibility—balancing appearance, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.

Applications

  • Transparent electrodes and conductive layers for touch panels

  • Anti-static / conductive protective coatings for displays and optoelectronics

  • Functional coatings for PET protective films and flexible packaging

  • Anti-dust, anti-static surface treatment for building and interior materials

Key Advantages

  • Water-based & eco-friendly: low VOC, easy in-line integration

  • High transparency & flexibility: preserves optics and works with flexible substrates

  • Broad substrate compatibility: strong adhesion to PE, PET, PP, PMMA, ABS, PC, nylon, etc.

  • Process-friendly: applicable via screen, gravure, inkjet; one-coat film building

  • Durable & reliable: resistant to heat, humidity, and chemicals for long-term use

Application: High-Performance Anti-Static and Scratch-Resistant Coating Agent with PEDOT/PSS

Positioning

An integrated, single-coat solution for plastics that delivers anti-static (less dust attraction) and scratch resistance (clean appearance and readability), significantly simplifying processes and reducing cost.

Operating Principle | Self-Healing

When minor scratches occur, the film undergoes elastic deformation, storing intermolecular interaction energy (elastic energy). Upon release, this acts as a restoring force, returning the film to its original state and healing shallow scratches, extending service life.

Key Features

  • Dual functions in one layer: anti-static + scratch resistance (replaces two-step stacks)

  • High transparency: maintains optical clarity and display readability

  • Strong adhesion on diverse plastics, reducing substrate constraints

  • Process flexibility: integrates with existing coating/printing equipment

  • Long-term durability under normal use

  • Target uses: wall/floor laminates, PET protective films, flexible packaging, optoelectronic protection layers

Customizable Parameters

Surface resistivity window, transparency/haze, hardness & abrasion class, coating viscosity/solids, drying/curing profiles, etc.
